COMMERCIAL WORK – CREDIT UNION AND RED CROSS
COMMERCIAL STORYBOARD CREDIT UNION
After being an animation generalist for several years I decided to specialize in storyboarding.
I didn’t realize the magnitude one can explore in terms of creating visual story blueprints. I love drawing and always have. I used to paint large Dr Seuss characters on my bedroom walls as a young girl.
There is was something very symbiotic about the Seuss world that was very fitting to my sensibilities in the world. I enjoyed recreating his characters about me in my sanctuary that was my very first own bedroom when my sisters had moved out.
These boards below are live action commercial boards which were my first large company contract that I gained on mine own and I was well pleased with the experience and outcome of my first foray into commercial storyboards for advertising and television.
From this experience I went on to create similar boards for a start up in the UK and another round of boards for the American Red Cross Relief Efforts.
Visual blueprints are fascinating and a very useful creative tool of which I enjoy exploring.
I was trained in traditional art and achieved a 2d animation diploma. I understand the value of being able to translate those fundamental structural skills to the animation world where you can make use of suspending ones belief of reality.
The commercial and advertising game is a different market.
The experience and range lends itself to broadening ones scope of what is achievable in different mediums and what is the most efficient and effective use of certain visual storytelling approaches.
I am pleased to have accomplished these as drawing and creative application of creative directives of thinking are a natural appeal to me.
