When you look at the animatic you can see that the overexaggerated stretch of the hands lends itself to great visual movement.
As well as the second series where the character is seemingly peeling her face off the ground. The dramatic effect and hilarity of it proves quite visually rewarding and solidifies the feeling of impact to her experience.
